Junior Memberships & Junior Guests

Mallard Flyfishers Safeguarding Policy

Please note that, as junior members and junior guests have to be accompanied by an adult member at all times whilst at the Fishery, it is the sole responsibility of that adult member to ensure the safety, care and supervision of the junior member / junior guest at all times. Furthermore, the adult member MUST be known to the junior member / junior guest e.g. as a family member or friend. No variations to this strict rule will be allowed under any circumstances.

Junior Memberships

There is no minimum age for a junior member. The maximum age is 17. ie if you are 18 on or before the 1st March, the adult membership fee applies.

The membership fee is £150.00 which is approximately a 50% discount on the adult fee. Additionally, there is no joining fee of £40.00, thereby offering a further discount. There is no membership fee reduction for juniors joining after the start of the season i.e. 1st March.

Junior members are required to take out a membership with Wiltshire Wildlife Trust (WWT). This is a stipulation by WWT. Individual membership is currently £36.00 per annum. However, family memberships are available for juniors up to 18 years old.

Junior members can:

  • attend Annual General Meetings of the Fishery.
  • take part in the annual free rod draw after they have been a member for 1 year.
  • have free use of the 3 rowing boats, but must be accompanied by an adult member. There is no charge for use of the boats. A junior size life jacket is required to be worn at all times whilst in a boat.

Junior members are not permitted to:

  • go pike fishing in January & February each year.
  • invite junior or adult guests to the Fishery.
