April
The cold and persistent wind from NW to NE during the middle part of the month resulted in a larger number of blanks being recorded. Fortunately the weather by the end of April was much kinder and most of our syndicate members are now enjoying better sport. The number of large fish caught so far this season is very encouraging with 12 rainbows of between 3lb. and 6lb. and a brown trout of 2 1/2lb shown on the fishing returns. We have photographic proof of several of the larger fish - thanks to those who carry and remember to use a camera at the appropriate times.
We have stocked 656 trout since 17th March and with a considerable number of over-wintered stock, after having taken predation into account, there are plenty of fish which haven't made contact with a hook yet this season.
